Description of Documents

Our Food. (n.d.). Retrieved from https://www.mcdonalds.com/ca/en-ca/about-our-food.html.

McDonald’s official website is one of the best advertising platforms that the company has to date. The home page displays various products, including attractive pictures of people enjoying meals. The website also provides information about the company, its operations, and many aspects of its business. A careers section is included for people, wishing to make job applications and a list of the various services that the company provides to its partners and customers. The most attractive aspect is the ‘Our Food, Your Questions’ campaign, where customers ask any questions through the website, and the company responds to them. The result of this exercise is that McDonald’s achieves transparency and becomes an honest brand. The company could have chosen to keep quiet on this subject; but if it did so, it would have no chance of influencing public opinion. The site uses sharp images and bright colors to attract customers and pass a clear product promotion message. Various links on the home page are for customers to go through the information provided by the fast-food giant.

Spring Sale Clothing Flyer. (n.d.). Retrieved from https://venngage.com/templates/flyers/spring-sale-clothing-flyer-bce4d580-b8de-4666-b62c-86afcc104aa4.

This spring sale flyer is an example of a good advertisement for a clothing company that uses unique features to make it attractive, informative, and effective. A widely accepted design principle says that a flyer should not use more than three fonts in a layout. Anything more makes a design look messy and hinders concentration. A flyer with seven or eight different fonts lacks the unity and makes it hard for customers to distinguish what parts are vital. The Spring Sale Clothing Flyer is an example of the various categories of flyers that the company creates for clients to promote sales or for purposes of advertising. As a colorful, easy-to-notice, and eye-catching ad, it makes people pause and take an interest in reading it. The flyer is informative because it provides adequate information on the clothing sale. It is also convincing and targeted, as the colors and the message can make people excited about the sale and look forward to it. The bright colors and patterns on the flyer, together with the quirky design used in its development, can impress anyone looking for a shopping spot. As a great-looking flyer, the ad contains all the pertinent information, plus a photo and a date when the sale ends.

This advertisement is very catchy, especially for business executives and people who spend much of their time at work. Everyone hates meetings, especially when they are lengthy and pointless. This ad visually illustrates what one feels like sitting in shorter and fewer get-togethers. The message promotes Slack as a highly effective communication platform that can minimize the need for meetings. Indeed, it is a fantastic collaboration and communication tool for groups. The power of Slack is its cross-platform compatibility (web, iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, HoloLens, and more) and the ability to chat and interact with large groups of people across multiple chat rooms, where each channel is dedicated to specific topics of discussion. The ad uses attractive colors and imagery by utilizing a unicorn and a meme style to attract viewers. It focuses on how the customers will feel after using the product advertised, which is an effective and unique advertising strategy. The “Make Work Better” tagline is also very memorable and informative.

Document Revision

Original: Nike 1991 Campaign ads.

Ad 1: YOU WERE BORN A DAUGHTER. YOU LOOKED UP TO YOUR MOTHER. YOU LOOKED UP TO YOUR FATHER. YOU LOOKED UP AT EVERYONE. YOU WANTED TO BE A PRINCESS. YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE A PRINCESS.

Ad 2: Eventually, you start taking yourself seriously. You know when you need a break. You know when you need a rest. You know what to get worked up about and what to get rid of. And you know when it’s time to take care of yourself, for yourself. To do something that makes you stronger, faster, more complete. Because, you know, it’s never too late to have a life. And never too late to change one. Just do it.

Revisions: Nike 1991 Campaign ads.

  1. The background color of the ads should be bright to ensure that the message on them pops up. Brighter colors would make adverts more attractive and captivating.
  2. The message in the second ad should be in bold to make it more explicit.
  3. The images used should be enlarged to make the ads more attractive and eye-catching.
  4. The “just do it” slogan should use a large and clear font.
  5. The messages in the ads should be revised to be more informative.

Ad 1: WHEN YOU WERE A YOUNG GIRL, YOU LOOKED UP TO YOUR PARENTS AND THOSE AROUND YOU. THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU CONTROLLED YOUR LIFE. YOU FELT LIKE A PRINCESS. YOU BELIEVED YOU WERE A PRINCESS. YOU WERE TREATED LIKE A PRINCESS. LIFE WAS EASY.

Ad 2:Adulthood comes with its own challenges and changes. You have to take charge of your life, your destiny. Your wellbeing and your health are in your hands. Make the right decisions. Take charge of your life. Do something to make you better, stronger, faster, and more complete. It is never too late to take charge. JUST DO IT.
