Background of the Company
Notably, in the current era, there has been advanced development in ways business runs their day to day procedures. Information Communication Technology (ICT) has become a significant factor in any business environment regardless of what they are involved within a given market. Technology advancement has helped in business growth which indeed has helped to make the work of a company very easy. The case study is explicitly covering the Project plan of a given company that is anticipating installing a new facility and working over the internet (Westerman & Bonnet, 2015). The idea understands the type of technology that will be used in running the E-commerce business and how it will be implemented. Itech is an ICT company whose intention is to supply computer products and accessories in Miami. They have been funded so that they can deliver within the given location. The business is in the formulation stage, and since they have enough money to start with just 10 employees, they can be able to locate a building in Miami and starts working from there.
Type of Business
Itech is a business that deals with computer and ICT solutions. They intend to start an E-commerce business where they will be selling things online. The idea is to make sure that they cover all people everywhere in all areas without limitations on the location. Some of the solutions that Itech intends to offer to its customers are such as Laptops, TP-Links, Servers, Integrated solutions, Antiviruses, Desktops, Tablets, and Smartphones among others (Westerman & Bonnet, 2015). Just like any other business, Itech will have to choose a platform on which they are going to control their E-commerce business. There are three types of information systems that Itech can implement such as hosted, onsite and the hybrid ERP systems.
Information Systems
Itech Company has not experienced anything in the market and being a new company in the industry, as a CTO the best solution one can advise being implemented is the Hosted Solution. In the hosted solution the company has to install the Personal computers and Laptops for the employees. By hosting solution, in this one, there is renting of a server from a vendor or the provider whose takes the responsibility to keep the server running. This type of hosting is also known as cloud hosting (Woodward, 2017). A server is usually a computer dedicated to managing network resources. Cloud hosting servers are typically located at the hosting company data center, and one will need to connect directly with them remotely and over the internet connection (adssolutions.com, 2018). Hosted solutions have been providing solutions which are similar to the application experience through the web browser of the client as they were in the past desktop apps. The significant advantages of cloud hosting are that they can be deployed and thus easily maintained when compared to the older client-server architectures.
On the side of the client who is Itech Company, they have to install an application that is given to them by the vendor so that they can access their database from the data center of the provider. Notably, to achieve the best especially when working with good internet networking will be needed so that resources will be shared efficiently and effectively without members delaying. The computer infrastructure set in the company should be convincing, and they should be able to use such machines conveniently without any errors (Rashid, 2017). It will indeed help in making things easy for a person when dealing with clients. A friendly system should always be interactive and secure, cloud hosting services are usually easy to interact and very secure as it is only the provider and the owner of the data have access to the information. As a new company, the design of the websites that will be used by their customers in the account creation need to simple, easy to navigate, clear, visible and user-friendly (Rashid, 2017). There should be only one administrator to manage the whole office as there are only ten employees.
