Strategic Goals for the Development Department

Control Process

The second step is the evaluation of performance, which is done to determine if the expected performance levels are being achieved. The next stage is the comparison of the actual performance with the set standards. Lastly, the necessary corrective action is taken to ensure that set standards are achieved.

Control Mechanisms for the Development Department

The balanced scorecard will be utilized as the control mechanism for the development department. The tool gives an overall overview of the accomplishments of the department. The manager will consider various performance indicators, including shareholder satisfaction, customer satisfaction, and what needs to be improved.

Tactical Controls

The top management of an organization performs strategic control, which involves the measurement of overall company performance (Kinicki & Williams, 2016). Middle-level management carries out tactical control, measuring the performance of specific areas. Lower level management conducts operational control, which includes the day to day organizational activities. Tactical control is very crucial in the department. Information will be controlled to prepare sales forecasts and control public knowledge. Finances will be monitored to keep track of outgoing and incoming funds. Employees will also be monitored to ensure that they are fully engaged.
