I agree that museums are still important in the digital age. Museums enable people to relate to what used to be, the rapid changes that have occurred over the years, and where we might end up. Art museums portray how people should perceive society and its habits. As such, the items in a museum put the existing generation into perspective (Weaver, 2019). Also, Museums provide people with an opportunity to learn and allow them to socialize with others verbally.

The American History Museum has numerous pieces of the country’s history, such as the fashionable clothes worn by former first ladies. Some of these items in the museum should be seen in real life and not just on the TV screens or social media outlets (Weaver, 2019). For instance, although someone can google what attire a former first lady wore in an event, seeing it in real life gives a person a different feeling. Therefore, museums are more relevant because a picture presented on the TV screen or in other media outlets does not provide justice to the item.

Museums are essential in contemporary society because they enable people to comprehend how past cultures adapted to the changing world. They have a lot to teach us as we adjust to the changing climates, technological advancement, and the likelihood of shifting to other planets (Gonchar. 2018). Therefore, museums should be preserved effectively to continue caring for the collective humanity.
