A Response to Aligning Organizational Culture with Biblical Teachings: The People-First Approach of FedEx Freight

You have a very good understanding of the scriptures. FedEx Freight clearly portrays the teachings of the Bible in their organizational culture. 1 Corinthians 10:24 states that “no one shall seek his own advantage, but that of his neighbor”. The organization seems to be abiding by these teachings since one can clearly see the values of treating people well and teamwork from how the organization operates. The new company recognizes employee strength and nurtures its employees to become better people. The employees are treated as an asset of the company (Campbell, 2017), and they work together towards the success of the company.

According to the Bible, treating one another well makes us better people and enables us to work together. FedEx Freight acknowledges this teaching and practices it daily. The company offers its employees a chance to grow as individuals, with trust, respect, and offer good salaries. The bible teaches us to “do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory” (Philippians 2: 3-4). The leadership of the company adheres to biblical teachings and looks out for its employees’ wellness and personal growth. As you have stated, the company has gained worldwide recognition and success which can be attributed to the culture and humanity practiced.
